7. Watch Out For Ashton Allen Moving Forward, The 15-16 Sprinter Doubled At The AAU Region 3 Qualifier

Ashton Allen, of the Bullis School, could be one of nation's next sprint standouts. This weekend, the 15-16 year-old showed his form at the AAU Region 3 Qualifier, pulling a double in the 200 (21.66) and 400m (50.16) running for i5 Elite.

Allen just finished his freshman season in Maryland, but he's got more in the tank as he moves forward to the AAU Junior Olympics in August. His time at Region 3 was just .10 off his PB in the 200m of 21.56 -- which he converted in the preliminaries. Previously, Allen split sub-50 at his last AAU meet on June 11 and went 47.62 in the freshmen 400m at New Balance Nationals Outdoor, breaking the meet record. For Bullis, he ran 48.84 in April in the 400m as well.

Could Allen, who also ran 10.85 seconds in the 100m with Bullis over the spring, challenge for a medal at the national level? It's surely possible.
