Andrew JordanGavin Gaynor Battle to US No. 1 & 2 in 3200m

Ohio's finest senior distance runners in Andrew Jordan and Gavin Gaynor ran a hot pace at the Eastern Relays in Kentucky to set the nation's No. 1 and No. 2 times in the 3200m this year in 8:46.72 and 8:50.59, respectively.

Jordan took the lead shortly after 400m and ran splits of 64, 65, 65, 66, 66, 67, 67 and 64. His first 1600m was 4:20. The Iowa State commit's 8:46 is the second-fastest time in Ohio state history and marks his first foray under nine minutes.

Gaynor, the New Balance Nationals Indoor mile runner-up, boastest a prior best of 9:07.
