Tyrese Cooper Breaks Another National Freshman Class Record

Tyrese Cooper of American High School in Florida ran 45.94 to break his own national freshman class record in the 400m at the FHSAA 4A Region 4 Championship

The 16-year-old talent blended in with the rest of the field until the final 100m, where he gives a quick glance back at the runner in the lane next to him and pulls away clean to the finish line. Cooper's prior record stood at 46.43.

He also ran 21.28 for 200m and 10.49 for 100m at the regional meet.

Watch the post-race interview below, where he says he hopes to run 44.19 for 400m at the state meet.
