SAVE Johnson County CC Track Program!
Joined: Feb 2018
The Johnson County Community College administration has cut their track and field and cross-country programs for the 2018-2019 season. Meanwhile the same administration has embarked on an ambitious $103 million facilities project. The JCCC programs have served the Kansas City metro area and beyond for 32 years and been a great opportunity for a number of athletes. The college has cited a $250,000 shortfall for continuing the programs. A group of alumni have created an event to show support for the programs and for the Kansas City track community as a whole. Please consider joining the event on March 10, 2018 at 4pm to "Walk the JCCC Track". Coaches, please consider bringing your teams as it will be a great opportunity to show how many are affected by the sport of track and field in the greater Kansas City area. Visit our webpage for more info: savejccctrack.com Facebook Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/175696166365027/ Please share your thoughts with us about this unfortunate decision which will effect our track community.

The "Walk" is about 1 week away. If you can, please pass the word to your students, parents, alumni about this current state of JCCC Track & Field/Cross Country. It would be great to see a large turnout for this event. If you have ever had an athlete attend JCCC, please consider supporting this effort in some way. If you were a parent or member of a club TF or XC team that used JCCC facilities, consider supporting this event.
