Speakers will be discussing distance training with coaches, college athletes, and parents of athletes. This event is sponsored by Skechers Performance Division (50 pair of shoes will be given away the day of the conference), and Frogg Toggs. He also produced 425 All Americans and 87 individual national champions during his tenure at Adams State.Vigil has also had success in coaching post-collegiate athletes, including 2004 Olympic Bronze Medalist in the marathon, Deena Drossin Kastor. Her training partner Meb Keflezighi received the Olympic Silver Medalist 2004. John McDonnell 10:30-11:45 a.m./Training Thru Cross Country and Track: The most successful coach in the history of American collegiate athletics. He amassed a staggering résumé of accomplishments, including forty national championships (eleven cross country, nineteen indoor track, and ten outdoor track), the most by any coach in any sport in NCAA history. His teams at University of Arkansas won the triple crown (a championship in cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track in a single school year) a record five times. He started as an assistant cross country and track coach and is now the head coach for both programs. He began head coaching duties for cross country in 2006 and track & field in 2014.
