Nebraska Outdoor Breakthrough Performances: Week of May 18

Several Nebraska high school athletes set personal records and school marks at the NSAA Class State Championships on May 20.

Logan Rowell (Auburn) threw 182-0 in the discus, improving from his previous best of 164-8. The mark sets a school record for Auburn and ranks #7 in Nebraska among 1,958 athletes. Rowell finished 4th of 92 competitors.

Tayla Hurner (Wayne) ran 11:11.19 in the 3200 meters, cutting her time from 11:41.40. The Wayne freshman set a school record and ranks #13 in the state and #4 among freshmen. Hurner placed 9th of 95 competitors and also set a PR in the 800 meters, improving from 2:23.10 to 2:22.86.
