The outdoor track & field season is in full swing and we are wrapping up our sixth week of the year in the Cornhusker State. Let's take a look at some of the state's top performances from some of the most recent meets.

Sprint Events - Top Performers
Niles Medcalf, Lincoln Southeast - Medcalf ran 47.11 to win the 400m at the Harold Scott Invite, taking over NE #1 and dropping over 1.3 seconds for a huge PR. With back-to-back wins now, he's quickly separating himself in the event.
Beau Fujan, Bishop Neumann - Fujan picked up another win in the 110m hurdles at Bennington, continuing to extend his NE #1 mark and bringing his total to five wins in the event. He's also been perfect in the 100m and 200m, showing elite versatility across the sprints.
Hazel Haarberg, Kearney Catholic - Haarberg had a massive meet at Lexington, setting PRs and NE #1 marks in both the 100m (11.54) and 200m (23.33). She's now undefeated with 13 wins across the two events, establishing herself as the top sprinter in the state.
Aubrey Fujan, Bishop Neumann - Fujan continues to lead the state in the 100m hurdles, running 14.28 for another win at Bennington. With five wins this season, she's been one of the most consistent performers in the event.

Field Events - Top Performers
Jayden Slage, Aurora - Slage jumped 48-2 to win the triple jump at the NW Dave Gee Invitational, taking over the state lead.
Pierce Parker, Bellevue West - Parker cleared 6-10 to take over the state's top spot in the high jump, putting together one of the top field event marks in Nebraska this year. He continues to be one of the most consistent jumpers in the state.
Finley Moome, Papillion-La Vista South - Moome stayed undefeated in the long jump, winning at the Dennis Smith Invitational with a 19-8.5. After finishing 2nd at state last year, she's picked up right where she left off.
Claire Hellbusch, Lincoln North Star - Hellbusch cleared a state-leading mark in the pole vault at the Central Jo Dusatko Invite, coming within an inch of her PR. She's trending toward another big breakthrough as the season progresses.

Distance Events - Top Performers
Bryson Neels, Gothenburg - Neels ran 1:53 to win the 800m at the Midwest Nebraska Classic, taking over NE #1 and staying undefeated with five straight wins. He's also dropped 12 seconds since the start of the season, showing significant improvement.
Tatum Neilson, Bellevue West - Neilson picked up a pair of wins at the Harold Scott Invite in the 800m and 3200m, running 2:10 and 11:22. After finishing 2nd at state cross country, she's carried that momentum into a strong start on the track.
