The Creighton men's and women's cross country teams will kick off their 2009 seasons on Saturday with the CU/UNO Invitational at Chili Greens, their only home meet of the year.

The 8,000 meter men's race will being at 8 a.m., followed by the 5,000 meter women's race at 8:45 a.m. Creighton, Nebraska and York will compete on the men's side, while the women's race consists of teams from Creighton, Nebraska, York and Nebraska-Omaha.

Creighton's men's and women's teams were both picked to finish ninth in the Missouri Valley Conference by the league's coaches in the preseason poll.

The meet is free to attend and open to the public. Chili Greens is located at 72nd and Spring streets in Omaha.
