The country's top sophomore sprinter is back in full force. Following last year's campaign with top five all-time wind-legal performances in the 100m (11.13) and 200m (22.48), Davis has opened with US No. 1s of 11.27 (+2.0) and 23.06 (+0.2) in her respective events. What's more, she also split 53.9 on her team's 4x400 Relay at the Pepsi Florida Relays.
2
Cunliffe ended last spring with a flurry, reaching as high as 14-feet to finish the track and field season tied with a US No. 1. This year, Cunliffe didn't wait long. She went 13-6 at the Texas Relays, then skied for an unbelievable mark of 14 feet, 8 inches at Arcadia, setting a new national record by a half-of-an-inch. Cunliffe is in 15-foot territory -- and no high school girl has ever accomplished that feat before.
3
The defending MileSplit50 champion is planning to open her season in Boston in May before heading to the Atlanta Georgia Relays later in the month.
4
Last year's outdoor MileSplit50 champion and national record holder in the 1-mile run has not opened her season just yet, but she may open with a relay during the North Rockland Relays this week. Beyond that, Tuohy will compete in New York through the regular season before trying to put down a World Championship 'A' standard in the 5K at the Adrian Martinez Classic on June 13.
5
Williams' already in qualifying mode. First up on her calendar were 200m openers, where she put down a wind-legal 23.29 seconds at the John Battle All-Star Invite. She followed last week at the JAA CARIFTA U20 Trials, where she scored a double in the 100m and 200m, scoring times of 11.67 (-2.1) and 23.26 seconds. The CARIFTA Games are next up for Williams, who competes for Jamaica.
