Jahvel Hemphill Chooses Harcum College

One of the state's top athletes has finally made a college decision.

Bloomsburg standout sprinter Jahvel Hemphill decided on Harcum College, a school located in Bryn Mawr, PA in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

"I still have something in my life that I have to accomplish, and I promise you it's gonna get done," Hemphill said in a Twitter post. "After a long stressful process I'm blessed to announce I'm attending Harcum College"

Hemphill made PIAA history in May when he won his fourth consecutive Class AA 100 meter state title, running a PIAA meet record of 10.47. Hemphill also has PRs of 6.53 in the indoor 55 meters and 6.99 in the indoor 60 meters.

The Harcum Bears are apart of NJCAA Division I, competing out of Region 19. Junior colleges are two-year post-secondary schools.
