Millard West's Seth Hirsch
Millard West's Seth Hirsch is no stranger to headlines. Most of us took notice in 2012 when a then 13 year-old Hirsch finished 10th in the Corporate Cup against many high school and college athletes. Fast forward a few years from 2012 and we are now seeing Hirsch really hit his stride by posting the fastest time in the Men's 5k in Nebraska.
To find out how good he is, we need to look at the numbers. Hirsch's 15:05 is the best in the state by a lot. When it comes to big meets, Hirsch delivers. Looking back ten years, Hirsch has the best time of any Nebraskan in the high school big meets. DANNY ALDABA came close to Hirsch in 2012 but was still off by eight seconds. Hirsch currently has the 18th fastest time of any underclassmen in the nation in the 5k. Although not his best race, Hirsch has the 5th fastest time in the Nebraska Class A State Championship history at 15:29.
Time will tell if Hirsch can continue to improve his times but there is little question that Hirsch has left quite an impression on the Nebraska racing community.
